From Vancouver International Airport -YVR

Take Pacific Coach Lines purchasing a ticket at the airport. The bus will pick you up in front of the terminal and runs every 2-21/2 hours, cost is approximately $38 dollars which includes your ticket for the Ferry, (Ferry cost is approximately $12 not including bus fare). BC Ferries Information

Hourly sailings in summer months, 6:00 am - 10:00 pm; sailing in the winter months are not hourly so check Ferry schedules on the BC Ferries link below. Sailing for winter months are between the hours of 7:00 am - 9:00 pm, but are subject to change.
Ferry service from Vancouver (Tsawassen Ferry Terminal) to Nanaimo arrives at Duke Point. Ferry service also runs from Horseshoe Bay in North Vancouver to Departure Bay in Nanaimo. Departure Bay is approximately 15 minutes north of Duke Point. Ferry traffic from Vancouver to Victoria arrives at Swartz Bay; you are approximately 30 minutes from downtown Victoria. During peak summer periods, waits can be long for boarding so arrive well in advance. You can also park and ride as secure parking at any of the Ferry Terminals. Each sailing also has motor coach service by Pacific Coach Lines available from Duke Point (Nanaimo) and Swartz Bay (Victoria) to downtown Vancouver and Vancouver International Airport terminal and return.

Railway- Via Rail operates a Dayliner service between Victoria and Courtenay BC. The trip is an excellent way to see the scenery of Vancouver Island without the hassles of driving Island Highway. Enjoy a leisurely trip up the east coast of the Island with a quick turn-a-round and head back for a great way to spend a day. Make sure you pack a lunch as there is no food service onboard. You can also overnight at any of the scheduled stops along the way if you prefer to really get a look at Island life. Check with Via Rail for reservation availability and fares.
