Our Town of Chemainus (1 minute from Eagle Rock)

Chemainus, BC is located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is a small, waterfront community popular for outdoor murals, performing arts and recreation.

The community is well known for two attractions - the Chemainus Murals and the Chemainus Theater; two venues which attract many to the community throughout the year.

The village is a sightseeing destination itself. There is an upper downtown section and an older lower downtown section. The buildings are decorated with giant murals along with hanging flower baskets. The streets display gardens, blooming trees, wood and stone carvings and statues.

Activities enjoyed in the community include boating, golfing, cycling, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, swimming, sight-seeing, sea kayaking, canoeing and hiking. Waterwheel Park is the main park in the community. It overlooks the harbor and provides some great marine views.

Victoria - The Capital City of British Columbia (1 hour from Eagle Rock)

The Pacific Undersea Gardens: Another main attraction in the Inner harbor area. The building reaches down 5m (15 ft) and offers an ideal opportunity to view and become interactive with the aquatic life of the Pacific Ocean including the seal pup rehabilitation tank. Meander through the underwater aquarium and then become up close & personal with the showcase of marine life including that of Armstrong, a giant Pacific octopus that all become the stars at underwater Theater with regular daily shows. Nanaimo (20 minutes from Eagle Rock)
